The HP2 Enduro has a chassis which is uncompromisingly designed for sporty use.
In every individual component, BMW Motorrad underscores its claim to leadership in the field of innovation and technology, including these:
* WAD spring fork
* Air Damping System
* Tubular frame
WAD spring fork
The Upside-Down fork especially designed for the HP2 Enduro has a travel-related damping system which effectively minimises the risk of bottoming out. Both compression and rebound stages are adjustable, making the bike perfectly adaptable to the required purpose.
Air Damping System
Another innovation is the Air Damping System: a unique pneumatic suspension system which weighs just half as much as conventional systems but which provides significantly increased traction compared to other systems. It is maintenance-free and can be adjusted to continuously variable levels via the air volume in the cylinder. This means that the motorcycle can be as precisely adjusted to the size and weight of the rider as it can in compression and rebound. It’s revolutionary: both suspension and damping function by means of air!
Tubular frame
The lightweight tubular frame is based on the BMW 900 RR used in rally racing, demonstrating success with numerous victories. The design combines a high degree of rigidity with an extremely compact construction and prepares the HP2 Enduro excellently for the challenges that await it from ambitious enduro riders.
Conclusion: a chassis which will do anything you want it to
Optimum directional stability due to a 21“ front wheel and extended parallel swing arm, low centre of gravity and - due to various lightweight construction measures - a surprisingly low dry weight for a 2-cylinder bike of just 175 kg, as well as a sensible combination of innovative ideas and successfully established components: in the HP2 Enduro, everything is designed for impressive performance – both on road and off road!
