The development of a successor to the Murciélago has been widely speculated in the motoring press, as the supercar approaches the end of its first decade in production. Spy photos published on the internet in January 2010 showed a camouflaged Lamborghini prototype undergoing winter testing. Early rumors suggest the possibility of the name "Jota", a reference to the one-off Miura variant created by Lamborghini test driver Bob Wallace in 1970.

It’s difficult to get the same emotion out of a Lamborghini Murciealgo LP 670-4 SuperVeloce photo gallery, but in the following pics at least we get a sense of its high speed appeal. That is, until we get our hands on some new videos of the V12 Lamborghini Murcielago symphony. Enjoy the pics.

The Italian carmaker has released the first Lamborghini Murcielago SV promo showing the SuperVeloce model unveiled at the Geneva auto show. The Lamborghini Murcielago SV promo was shot in a hangar in Hamburg, Germany, as the new model was drifting in a cloud of smoke. The Lamborghini Murcielago SV is powered by the same 6.5 liter V12 engine that outputs 660 Nm of torque and 670 hp. With a top speed of 342 km/h, the Lamborghini Murcielago SV manages to get from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

The next jewell in the crown from Lamborghini will be the new Murcielago LP670-4 SV. With the name likely to stick, Lamborghini fans will be able to figure out the main characteristics of the most powerful Lamborghini made, which could be launched at the Geneva motor show in March.

While the V12 Murcielago should reach 670hp, it will likely include all wheel drive despite the historic SV name, which could disappoint afficionados. While the overall weight is likely to be similar to the LP 640 sister, the look is likely to change with modifications similar to the 2007 Gallardo Superleggera.

The rear wing should come in varying options and based on the aerodynamics chosen, the maximum speed should range between 337 and 342 km/hr. The price should be about 25 more than the LP640, taking the new Lamborghini Murcielago to about 360,000 euros.

The edo Lamborghini Murcielago LP710 Audigier features a re-styled exterior and interior with unique designs on the seats, door panels and center console.

The custom paint work on the edo Lamborghini Murcielago LP710 Audigier is done by Marcus Pfeil, of Pfeildesign in Austria, who is one of the most respected artists specialized in custom painting.

Every wish of the client can be accommodated during production. The base car, a Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640, is completely disassembled. The modifications to the engine, aerodynamics, wheels, tires, exhaust system and interior are made to measure at edo competition within a three month time frame.

Reiter Engineering was on board for the development of the Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT racecar. So with a little extra tim on its hands, the people at Reiter decided to give this track-only car some modifications so it could be unleashed on the street.

What makes this version recognizable from standard Murcielagos are the raised tail pipes and fixed rear wing. The important part is that its that this Murcielago is on strict weight saving diet. Expect to keep the current car’s 640 hp V12 engine, but like the Gallardo Superleggera, the Murcielago’s all-wheel drive system is ditched for the lighter and more race-friendly rear-wheel drive.
