Subaru rolled out an impressive Impreza concept vehicle at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. That design was aggressive, good-looking and one of the better reveals of the entire auto show. Will the impending production version be as exciting as the concept? We’ll see. Subaru has plans to reveal the next Impreza at the fast-approaching New York Auto Show. Ahead of that, the automaker has released a profile shot of the 2012 Impreza.
We don’t have much in the way of actual information to offer just yet, but Subaru is offering fuel efficiency estimates of 36 miles per gallon on the highway, and we’re told that both the sedan and wagon are scheduled to appear at the 2011 NYIAS. As far as the styling goes, we’re going to hold off final judgment until we see it in the flesh, or at least until we can show you more than just this side profile. Until that time, you can find us hanging out in our angry dome.

Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce pricing for the 2011 high-performance Impreza WRX and WRX STI models
In addition to the new styling, the 2011 WRX STI features significantly revised suspension tuning and lighter 18-inch wheels for even sharper handling.
“The 2011 4-door WRX STI will expand the appeal of this iconic performance model to a wider range of driving enthusiasts.”
The 2011 Impreza WRX STI models are en route to Subaru dealerships now.
New WRX STI Four-Door with Wide-Body Design
The 2011 WRX STI continues as the ultimate-performance Subaru with its high-boost 305-horsepower turbocharged/intercooled Subaru Boxer engine teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission and the exclusive Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD) version of Subaru’s Symmetrical Full-time All-Wheel Drive system.
The WRX STI is equipped with advanced dynamic control systems, including Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) and a Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, which features a track performance-optimized mode.
All-New 4-Door Wide Body Design for 2011
Like the wide-body design already used for the 5-door WRX STI, the new 4-door WRX STI features the widened front and rear track dimensions of the 5-door model and wider, more pronounced front fenders and rear quarter panels. In front, the 2011 WRX STI models feature sharpened bumper corners to accentuate the “wide and low” profile. A striking high profile rear spoiler was exclusively designed for the STI 4-door.
New WRX STI Chassis Tuning for 2011
The Subaru WRX STI was already a highly optimized performance machine. The WRX STI delivers responsive handling along with everyday ride compliance. Aluminum front lower L-arms reduce unsprung vehicle weight.
Both the front and rear suspension systems employ higher-rate springs and thicker front and rear stabilizer bars than the 2010 model: 21 mm vs. 20 mm in front and 19 mm vs. 18 mm in rear. New standard 18-inch Enkei aluminum wheels feature high-luster paint and weigh 8kg less than the previous standard wheels.
SI-DRIVE Gives WRX STI Driver More Control
SI-DRIVE alters vehicle performance characteristics by regulating the Engine Control Module (ECM) and by fine-tuning the Electronic Throttle Control system.
Multi-Mode DCCD All-Wheel Drive with Three-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control
As before, the 2011 WRX STI is exclusively equipped with the Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD) version of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. A mechanical limited-slip type centre differential augments an electronically controlled centre differential to enhance torque transfer performance. Sensor inputs that include steering angle, throttle position, RPM, lateral g, yaw, brake, ABS and wheel speed govern torque transfer response. A helical-type limited-slip front differential and a TORSEN(R) torque-sensing limited-slip rear differential optimize side-to-side power distribution, helping to prevent the inside wheels from slipping during cornering.
The DCCD AWD system features three automatic modes. The Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) stability and traction control system is standard on all Subaru models. Exclusive to the WRX STI, the Multi-Mode VDC system offers the driver three settings: VDC Normal, Traction and Off. Also exclusive to the WRX STI, the Brembo Performance Brake System uses ventilated 4-wheel disc brakes with Super Sport anti-lock (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). The wheel features control switches for Bluetooth(R) hands-free phone function. The WRX STI models are equipped with standard aluminum-alloy pedals and driver’s footrest. Performance-design front seats integrate the backrest and head restraint into a single structure. A 60/40-split folding rear seat further boosts cargo capacity and convenience, and the 4-door also features a rear seat fold-down centre armrest.
Steering wheel mounted controls for the audio system, cruise control and Bluetooth(R) are standard for all 2011 Impreza WRX STI models.
Subaru Safety
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) provides precise control of braking pressure between the front and rear wheels based on the vehicle load to improve stability and stopping distances. All Impreza models utilize the proven advanced Subaru Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frame body structure with front and rear crumple zones. Front seat side airbags and side-curtain airbags are standard on all Subaru models.

It's been a long time in the making but we're finally going to get our first glimpse of Subaru's version of the Toyota FT-86 RWD Coupe, which is a joint project from the two companies, at the upcoming Geneva Salon in March. The somewhat blandly named “Subaru Rear Wheel Drive Sports Car Technology Concept” will share the spotlight with the Impreza Concept (pictured above) and the Trezio mini MPV, both of which will receive their European premiere at the Swiss motorshow.

Do you know what a bull bar is? If you are very interested in the automobile, you must be familiar with this term. A bull bar (also named as grille guard) is a huge tubing device attached to the front of a vehicle, with the purpose of avoiding or minimizing the damage to the vehicle's exterior body when car collisions take place. This device was firstly introduced in Australia, to avoid the bull walking on the road bumping into the front of the vehicle. After decades of development, it has become an extremely good part of a vehicle, especially a SUV or a truck.

2011 Subaru Forester: it’s not the most refined compact SUV
0 comments Posted by korekore at 10:01 PMAs you might be aware, Subaru Forester headlights and tail lights are by no means inexpensive. These are quality auto parts and come at a price. Brand new ones especially can be pretty hard on the pocket and then there are the fitting charges to be paid to the mechanic as well. Since there are a lot of costs involved with replacing a broken or in some cases, a faulty headlamp or tail lamp assembly, it is wise to look at options by which one can minimize the expenses.

he 2011 Subaru Forester has standard all-wheel drive and a low base price, making it one of the better values in the class for drivers who frequently encounter foul weather.

The Subaru Celeno Concept is Quesada's interpretation of a small Subaru with some BMW Visions EfficientDynamics thrown in. It's a sleek four-door coupe seen down the hypothetical line created by Subaru's own Hybrid Tourer.
Looking at Subaru's relatively boring lineup (barring the STI, and to a lesser extent, the WRX), it's refreshing to find people interested in bringing some new ideas to the brand. In the case of the Celeno, that person is budding car designer Xuacu Pérez Quesada
Mr. Quesada interned for Italdesign and received an M.A. in Transportation Design from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia; he is obviously not a person playing around on the computer with a bong and some photoshop skills (to those people out there: feel free to keep sending stuff in, we don't mind).
Ultimately, is the Celeno clearly a Subaru? Nope, but it has some very cool details - like the frowning front fascia, colored side panels, and backlight-hugging tail lights - that would be much-welcomed in future, less bulbous Subaru designs.
